HOW TO: Modern Babyshower

Makeup by @ElizabethDAmicoMakeup

Although it is inevitable that I will have a big family baby shower (Italian AND Persian, need I say more?), it was important to me to do something with my girls that represented who am I and the “cool” mom era. So, let’s chat about how my amazing sister threw me the most perfectly chic shower with my closest chicks.

First of all, location is key. Choose somewhere special (not a regular Sunday brunch spot) that has a classic yet contemporary vibe, decor and menu. Shout out to Maison Boulud at the Ritz in Montreal. Because the setting is so perfect, all you need is to add a few personal touches to make it super special for the shower.

My sister did a couple gorgeous floral arrangements for the table, the most fabulous oversized balloons, pretty cupcakes at each place setting as a gift and the most stunning floral crown for yours truly. Although I am not a girly girl by any means, this crown made me feel like a real life Snapchat filter so yeah…

The guest list consisted of my nearest and dearest ladies and we all drank (non-alcoholic for the preggos) and chatted over a delicious lunch and honestly, what could be better to celebrate the arrival of my babe. Selfies and videos were obviously taken (check out my vlog of the day) and gifts were opened and it was perfect.

So needless to say, I am looking forward to my more traditional shower in the coming weeks but this was a really fun way to celebrate the newest girl to the gang and as you can see, it doesn’t have to be fussy, just fabulous! xo

PS: Shoutout to my girl Liz (@elizabethdamicomakeup) for doing my makeup and making me feel like a real life princess!!
